Lyrics

written by Liesa Yeargan

~Gifts~

I see the trees waver in the breeze.

I see the birds flutter above.

I wonder to myself,

Why do they live?

Do they feel love?

So many lives cross my path.

They sometimes even make me laugh.

Time is short, though it feels long.

If we don't love, will we be wrong?

Why are we given these gifts?

I often wonder if...

Will anyone ever know?

If they pass us by, will we still grow?

What have we learned?

Were we even concerned?

To love each other...

To love the sky...

So much wonder has passed us by.

You are a gift.

A gift from god.

All we've been blessed with seems so odd.

We grow closer every day.

When we are older,

Will this slip away?

You are precious to me.

You are my family.

You understand my fears,

and wipe away my tears.

What makes our love so strong?

To feel this way for oh so long.

You are my world, you are my life.

I am so happy to be your wife.

We watch our children grow.

We wish they could only know.

The love they were given,

Was a gift from heaven.

To see the wonder in their eyes.

To hope one day they will be wise.

I see them dance, and I wonder if,

Do we truly deserve all of these gifts?
